A brief history of Orridge Business
Sales
In 1846 Benjamin Orridge, who was Queen Victoria’s pharmacist and a founder member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society had the inspiration to assist his fellow pharmacists to sell their businesses for the best possible price. He set up his business in Ludgate Hill in London and thus started the successful agency of Orridge & Company. Some interesting old adverts from the 19th century are in the downloads section of the website.
Orridge & Company eventually started a successful stocktaking business but the business sales agency was separated from the stocktaking business in 2000, to enable the present owners to concentrate solely on business sales.
The business has been family owned since 1968.
What differentiates us from our competitors
Perhaps the most important difference is that valuing and selling pharmacies and care homes is ALL that we do. Unlike our competitors who are also stocktakers, accountants, consultants or locum agencies we are business sales agents through and through. We concentrate 100% of our time and effort on selling our clients’ businesses.
We are a thriving and energetic company, dedicated to selling businesses on a national basis. Our team of Regional Sales Managers all have defined areas giving them a thorough local knowledge of the market and are strongly committed to achieving the best available deals for our clients.
Whilst we are still a personal and approachable company, we are the biggest and most successful by far and continue to invest heavily in new technology to stay ahead of the competition and maintain our position as No 1 in Business Sales. This continual investment improves the efficiency of our staff and our clients benefit from increased attention to detail, improved standards of service and speedy transactions. |
